We have been working with the Voucher Angels team since early 2016 advising on overall social strategy and brand management, a large component of which consists of competitions and giveaways run through their Facebook and Twitter pages.
July 2017 saw us help them run their biggest competition to date…#FestivalFever. The idea was a simple one, to give away a £500 Ticketmaster gift card to one lucky winner ran over a 4 week period, along with a number of weekly smaller giveaways. Voucher Angels wanted to achieve a higher number of followers on their social media accounts, so therefore it was advised the best option to go for was a ‘like and share’ style competition.
Voucher Angels not only wanted to gain new followers to their Facebook and Twitter pages, but they also wanted to achieve a high level of engagement on the pages. We already knew that the competition itself would attract a lot of engagement, but to ensure that we achieved the highest results possible we developed a content strategy plan for the 4 week period. This was a combination of self-created content and 3rd party content including news articles, videos and images. By having a continuous theme running through the content that linked to the competition (festivals & music/gigs), we were able to not only attract new audiences to the Voucher Angels social pages, but also keep them there with engaging content.
The combination of great giveaway prizes, targeted campaigning, engaging content and stunning graphics meant we were able to achieve results above and beyond the figures Voucher Angels had hoped for. By linking the giveaway to a landing page on their website, we were also able to gain new email addresses for their marketing database by offering extra entries if someone filled in their contact details.
